Main duties
- Design and characterize thin (multi)layer adhesive systems from polymers, focusing on coating processes and their precise control.
- Contribute to in situ process characterization, utilizing digital control and data science methods.
- Lead an interdisciplinary team of scientists, fostering collaboration and driving innovation.
- Utilize extensive experience in literature searches and patents to contribute to the IP portfolio.
- Collaborate with external R&D partners, embracing open innovation strategies.
- Spearhead advancements in coating technology for sustainable adhesive technologies and products.
Experiences / Skills / Personality / Education:
- PhD in Material Science, Polymer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with materials focus.
- Strong technical & academic background, high visibility in the field via patents and publications.
- Familiar with the creation and characterization of thin (multi)layer systems from polymers, preferably expertise in coating processes of adhesives, controlling physical or chemical processes occurring during coating, and in situ process characterization.
- 10+ years of business experience, with at least 5 years in industrial research or development in adhesives or construction chemistry.
- You are a strong networker (universities, institutes, conferences, start-ups, ..) who can collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across a global matrix organization.
- You have a customer-centric and service-oriented mindset and a proven track record of delivering results.
- You are process oriented person, strategic with out-of-the-box thinking abilities, hands-on and analytical
- Business-fluent English, other languages (German) welcome.
